Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of haunting.

Their purportedly real-life reports inspired The Amityville Horror story and film franchise.

The Warrens come to the assistance of the Perron family, who experienced increasingly disturbing events in their farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971

The Grudge (2020)

At first announced as a reboot of the 2004 American remake and the original 2002 Japanese horror film Ju-On: The Grudge, the film ended up being a sidequel that takes place before and during the events of the 2004 film and its two direct sequels,[9] and is the fourth installment in the American The Grudge film series.

Muldoon, a detective and single mother, investigates a murder in a suburban neighbourhood. Soon, she realises that the house in which the incident occurred is cursed by an evil force.

The Others (2001)

Grace Stewart lives in a remote country house with her two young children, who have a rare disease characterized by photosensitivity. Grace hires three new servants — housekeeper, gardener and a mute girl Lydia.

Her daughter claims to have seen people in the house several times: a man, a woman, an old woman and a child called Victor, who said that "the house is theirs".

After Grace hears footsteps and unknown voices, she orders the house to be searched and finds a photo album of mourning portrait photographs.

Later, Grace becomes convinced that the house is haunted.

Insidious (2011)

Josh and Renai move to a new house, seeking a fresh start. However, when their son, Dalton, enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for a variety of entities in an astral dimension known as 'The Further' who want to inhabit his body.

The film is followed by a sequel, Chapter 2 (2013), and two prequels, Chapter 3 (2015) and The Last Key (2018).

Sinister (2015)

True-crime writer Ellison Oswald is in a slump; he hasn't had a best seller in more than 10 years and is becoming increasingly desperate for a hit. So, when he discovers the existence of a snuff film showing the deaths of a family, he vows to solve the mystery. He moves his own family into the victims' home and gets to work. However, when old film footage and other clues hint at the presence of a supernatural force, Ellison learns that living in the house may be fatal.
