The Amityville Horror (2005)
Story is based on the true crimes of Ronald DeFeo Jr. who shot and killed six members of his family at 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, on the south shore of Long Island, New York. He was convicted of second-degree murder.
Later, George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved into the house. After 28 days, the Lutzes left the house, claiming to have been terrorized by paranormal phenomena while living there. These events became a basis for Jay Anson's novel The Amityville Horror, which was followed by a number of sequels and was adapted into films.
The Haunting in Connecticut (2009)

The film's story follows the fictional Campbells as they move into a house (a former mortuary) to mitigate the strains of travel on their cancer-stricken son, Matt. The family soon becomes haunted by violent and traumatic events from supernatural forces occupying the house.

The plot, set in early 20th-century England, follows a young recently widowed lawyer who travels to a remote village where he discovers that the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals and killing their children.
The Turning (2020)
Kate Mandell becomes a governess for seven year old Flora Fairchild after their former governess Miss Jessel's disappearance.
She soon learns that the children -- Miles and Flora -- are emotionally distant and unstable. When strange events start to plague Kate and the siblings, she begins to suspect that the estate's dark corridors are home to a malevolent entity.
